I am sitting her with a baby in my lap typing with one hand wondering if this is worth it. I love to look at others blogs but I am not sure if ours is really looked at. If I get a good response to this post I might keep it up -every couple months. I much rather be scrapbooking with my time or looking at others. So- let us know? I know that we don't update very much and that is my fault. I don't have alot to say on here, but on the phone I do!

So, I know it's been a while since the last post, and I promised more postings...and...I'm REALLY sorry I lied. Will you forgive me??? Truth is we haven't hooked up internet at our new place, that really isn't that new anymore, but I will have 1 online class this upcoming semester so we'll have internet within the next couple of weeks. Anyways, life in the Davis household has been busy and very eventful...where do I start?!?! First, I've switched to full time at the IRS and we're very glad that happened. The money is great and I'm quitting Taxworks, so I'll only have 1 job now, but that will be replaced with a full time school schedule, so not a whole lot of more free time. Probably less actually. But with the new job we were able to buy Jess a new car so that she could have her freedoms. Can you believe that we've been married for 4 years and have only had 1 car the entire time? Jess has been a good sport through it all, so she got the new car. We got her a Mazda CX-9(SUV) and it is really nice. It's white and a 2008, with low miles and we like to think we got a good deal, but who knows. This last week was pretty eventful also, but more so for Hayden. We had the opportunity of going camping at Palisades State park for a family reunion with my family and we had a great time. There was swimming in the lake, eating, golfing, eating, catching up with family, eating, games, eating...did I mention eating? Seems like that is all that goes on at family reunions. Anyways, for Hayden he had the grandest time playing with all the older cousins, but during those playing times he has managed to fall more than a hundred times that has caused bruises on his head, elbows, scrapes on his knees, and much more. Then on last Sunday, we had the opportunity of blessing Tanner along with his cousin Jackson(Wayne & Carina, who live in Zimbabwe and are visiting). We had a good time and all went well for Tanner that is. Hayden that morning decided to venture off and find mommies self defense mace spray(pepper spray) and test it out(it does say on the back of the can to test periodically). We happened to find Hayden behind the couch screaming that his face was burning and saw the can of mace next to him. We quickly rushed him upstairs and used an entire bottle of soap on his face and chest to wash off the spray. After a half hour of washing and rinsing, Hayden was back to his normal self. Then later that day, my brother was using a gyro ball that is meant to increase wrist and arm strength for various sports, and while he was using the gyro ball, Hayden happened to walk by and saw how interesting it was and tried to reach for it getting hit in the arm. Where the gyro ball hit his arm it created two burn marks and some blood blisters. He is Ok now, but he looks like he has gone through hell after last weeks encounters, but he is healing very well this week being away from all the family and cousins. Anyways, Tanner is getting big and we're working tirelessly to get Hayden potty trained, but seems like every step we take forward, Hayden pulls us back two steps. He will stay motivated for a couple of days and then stop for a week. Life is good, but very busy. I really will try to update more, but don't hold me to it. I hate to lie. Pictures to come soon.

Tanner Morrison Davis

We are pleased to announce the birth of Tanner Morrison Davis. He was born on May 5, 2009 at 5:31pm. He was 7lbs. 3oz. 21 in. long. Jessica and Tanner are doing great. Jessica did an amazing job and her body was definitely ready to deliver. She went in to get checked by her doctor and her belly measured a whole centimeter more than the day before and she had dilated to a 5cm, as the day before she was only at a 4cm. Her doctor sent her to the hospital and they got some antibiotics in her for her strep b. She then started her pitocin at 1:30pm. When it came time to push she only pushed for a series of 3 contractions that only lasted about 10 mins. or less. So the actual labor only lasted about 4 hrs. She did really good and seems to be recovering good. Tanner, like Hayden, looks more like an Abel than a Davis. Maybe the next will be mine. He's cute and we're glad to have the addition to our family.

We want to apologize for our lack of updates and once we get internet service again we will be able to update it some more. In the next couple of days we should have some more updates and hopefully pictures if you're lucky. First of all, we have moved to a new location. It came up quick, but after much thinking we decided it was the best. We moved to another townhouse, but this one had one more bedroom, a garage, and a fenced yard for Hayden to play. We're really happy with our decision and it will accommodate us until we are ready to purchase a house. If you want the address or directions to our house please text or call, we'd be more than happy to have you come visit. Secondly, today we went to the doctor for Jessica and her midwife said she is dilated to 4cms and after 3 weeks of contractions she is going to deliver the baby tomorrow. It is two weeks early, but the midwife is confident everything will be fine with Tanner when he is born, but she is nervous that if she isn't at the hospital when she goes into labor, she would deliver so fast she wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital. We will show up at the hospital at 9am and she will have one last checkup, and then we will go to the hospital to start the delivery. So, hopefully within the next couple of days we will have pictures and updates of Tanner Morrison Davis.

We went to Logan to visit my dad's grave. We also had a wonderful lunch and went to my brothers to let the kids play. It was so cold in Logan that day-as you can tell in the pictures.

Hayden loves trains! We took him to the union station while they had a train expo going on. He loved every minute of it! We meet Grandpa and Grandma Davis there which made it more fun.

Baby names

We are having a hard time trying to figure out what to name this little guy that will be coming soon! We have a few names that we like, but we need just one that sticks out! Any suggestions would be great! I have been wanting to add something from my side (my dad) and the name that we came up with is Morrison. It was hard because Dave Morris Abel (my dad's name) does not work so well with my new last name- Davis. I think we might use it as a middle name. I know it probably does not sound perfect with Davis, but I would love to have something from my dad. Please leave your comments!

Jewelry Class

I signed up to take a class with my mom on how to make jewelry. It has been really fun and I have learned so much! I have made three rings and hopefully can make more when the class is over. It has been nice being able to take a break from being mom and sweet of Neal to take over while I go!

Toddler bed

We have been trying to get ready for the new baby and we really wanted to get Hayden out of the crib. If he would allow us and do good with the crib front off, we decided we would buy him a bed. After weeks of trying with the crib turned into a toddler bed we went and bought him a new bed! He loves it and is doing really good! I made him a train (choo-choo) blanket and matching pillowcase. He woke up one day and looked at his blanket and bed and said WOW and laughed! He will also go and look into his old crib and say baby. Maybe he is starting to understand?

Adventures in babysitting

I apologize once again for not blogging! We have been busy! A couple weeks ago we watched my friends (Jamies) 4 kids for 10 days! Wow! When we arrived three of them were sick! When it was time for us to leave, all three of us were sick. I have no idea how my mom did it.

Boy or Girl??

So today we had the opportunity to get an ultrasound. Everything was reported good and the baby looks healthy. But if you want to know you have to watch the ultrasound below(around 7:20 min will be closer to the revealing of the sex). If you are willing to watch it all the pictures are quite amazing considering it still a 2D picture. They said their machine was brand new so maybe that helped. Also, the baby couldn't keep still, but was also very cooperative and turned at all the right moments..

Holiday Season Greeting!!

Sorry our blog has been so boring lately. We have been extremely busy lately and can barely keep up with ourselves. Neal is done for the semester and has an even busier schedule next semester working two jobs and 13 credit hours at school. A sacrifice, but we are trying to get him done and onto bigger and better things. Jessica is even busier chasing a two year old around the house and being pregnant. This last weekend we had the chance to go down to Neal's parents condo in St. George. We had a good time and hoped it would be a little warmer. It was a little warmer, but only by 10-15 degrees. The high was 50 on Saturday and quickly got cold as the first big snow storm rolled in. We returned home to 6 inches of snow and 15-20 degree temperatures. Hayden loves the snow and can't eat enough. Stay tuned for future postings of Hayden playing in the snow. Christmas will be fun this year as we can see Hayden's excitement of opening gifts, all though it is a challenge to keep gifts wrapped and under the tree. We will get an early Christmas present this Friday when Jessica goes to the doctor to find out the sex of the baby. So check back to see our great news. We hope everyone is doing great despite the economy and hope you have a great holiday with family.

Halloween

For Halloween we had a blast! We (Hayden) got so much candy and I think he is a pro at trick or treating! Hayden was a very cute dragon and we were a caveman and cavewoman. I love to dress up. It makes the holidays so much fun! We will try and get pictures posted. Please forgive the delay- our camera is having issues.

Happenings with the Davis clan

Neal has been working from home and we all love it! He also has been keeping very busy with school and working a part time job on the weekends at the IRS. What a great husband- willing to work two jobs so I can stay home with our little guy! We are just waiting for him to get on full time with the IRS and we will be very happy!
Hayden is turning 2 in just a couple of days! I can't believe how fast our little Hayden has grown! I love to watch him grow, but I ache for him to be little again. He has recently been asking to go potty in the toilet and he goes! I am amazed that he goes when he gets on there. I was expecting to be changing him until he was 3- I guess we will see what happens.
I have been feeling better although I have my days and moments. I am already showing which was a surprise to me but there is not much I can do about it. We will find out around Christmas what we are having. That will be such a fun Christmas present for us! That is all for now!

Our little Peanut

So Jessica came back from Mexico and the Doctor gave her the "Ok" for her to get pregnant again (not that his decision even mattered to Neal). Jessica decided to take a test to even see if she was and just out of a pure random happenstance ( Neal had it planned) Jessica was already pregnant. So we are pleased to announce child number two is on His/Her way. Her due date is May 19th. Jessica has been a little sick, but with Unisom and Vitamin B6 she has felt better, but Unisom is actually a sleeping pill so it helps with the nausea but makes her really tired. So she is just basically sleeping through the nausea. Anyways we had our first Dr. appointment last week and was able to have an ultrasound. So here is the picture of our little peanut. Such a cute little peanut. This one looks a lot like Neal I think. :)

We had so much fun on our cruise! We went on a four night baja/mexico cruise. My mother had payed for everything which was very nice! We did take Hayden because after all it was a family vacation. Neal and I would love to go on one again! It was wonderful spending so much time with my cute husband!

So in my boring time at work I came across this while surfing the internet. Now I am pretty familiar with music and instruments. I play the piano and played the trumpet in high school. I though I was pretty well educated in many different instruments and new their names. This is a new one for me. It is amazing how she makes the sounds. This instrument is called a Theremin. Read the wiki link to see how they control the sound. This girl playing it is pretty good and it is interesting to see her play it. Check it out.

Our Anniversary

We celebrated our anniversary by going out to dinner and just relaxing at home. I can't believe it has been 3 years! I am so thankful for such a wonderful husband! He does so much for me. Neal is a wonderful person to have a family with.

Family Reunion

All of the Davis clan (including 9 kids, spouses and children) got together and went camping! We went to Anderson Cove in Ogden. It is by Pineview-what a beautiful place. We ate, slept, played in the water, and talked around the campfire. When we were all done camping we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's to visit some more!

Dad's Headstone

My whole family went to Logan (UT) to see my Dad's headstone. We went to dinner for my brother's b-day at the Coppermill Restaurant(which you need to go to if you are in Logan) then to see his grave. Yes, that is my brother in the picture with a napkin on his head. He does not like pictures.
When we arrived at the cemetary it looked so peaceful and beautiful! I was happy he was buried there. Here are a few pictures of his headstone. I am happy to have such a wonderful Father!

We had lots of fun on the 4th! We woke up and went to a parade-which Hayden just loved! Who wouldn't love free candy? We then went to lunch and at night went to see the fireworks! Every year I think of how thankful we are to live in the USA and have the freedoms we have!

Our trip to Tijuana

Sorry so late but here it is. We had a wonderful and relaxing time. Jessica and her mom visited the doctor for half the day and then relaxed and visited sites. We were also able to visit with Jesscia's brother(who lives in California). He took us to some good restaurants. Thanks to Neal and his Spanish we were able to eat authentic Mexican food. Hayden is a great traveler and he always amazes us how good he can be. The people loved Hayden and thought he was so cute. We will be heading back to the doctors in September. Trip to Mexico!!

We are heading to Tijuana this weekend and we are so excited to go. We are going for both business and pleasure. Jessica, her mother, and a family friend are going to see if they can get some alternative medical treatment to help them with their health issues. Jessica's parents went down there to see if they could help out with her dad's cancer, but it was probably too late or just meant to be for her dad. Anyways, Jessica's mom has diabetes, her friend had thyroid cancer and Jessica has hypothyroidism. They are hoping that after some treatments they can better control or cure their problems. The problems they face aren't currently life threating, but could be if not cautiously taken care of. We do plan on going shopping in the mercados(open air markets)and relaxing by the pool. I am only going to relax and watch Hayden and of course be a translator for the rest. When we get back their will be plenty of pictures and we will document our experience. Just pray that we are safe down there. I know it can be dangerous in Tijuana. Adios!

Logan High Hall of Fame

Logan High inducted my Dad into the Hall of Fame. He was recognized for his athletic abilities in baseball, football, and basketball. They had dinner and then
introduced "Dave Abel" when he was young. They also honored him with a letterman jacket. What a special night for our family. We were so proud of him! Here are some pictures of that night

I have been waiting for it to get warm so we can go do things. When it was warm (for Utah) we went to the park. Hayden had so much fun yelling and feeding the ducks. He was not afraid of the ducks one bit. He wanted to pet them! Here are some pictures of us at the park. The cute little girl is Hayden's friend Cambria. They are cute when we get them together.

David Morris Abel
David Morris Abel 1950 ~ 2008 David Morris Abel, 58, passed away Saturday morning, March 8, 2008, at his home in Kaysville, Utah, with his loving wife by his side. Dave returned to his Father in Heaven,after a long valiant battle with adenocarcinoma. Dave was born March 5, 1950, in Price, Utah, the son of Morris Lester and LaPreal Riddle Abel. Dave was the fifth of eight children, and the second of five sons. The family moved to Logan, Utah when Dave was a year old. Dave felt the move to Logan was an inspiration of the Lord. Dave spent his growing up years in Logan. He attended Edith Bowen Elementary and the new Junior High School. At the Junior High, he was the first elected President of his class. He was active in sports and lettered in basketball, baseball and football at Logan High while serving as Student Body President during his junior year. Dave fell in love with the Utah State University campus. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business Administration. He was a True Aggie. He remained active in the USU Alumni Association, serving as the Alumni Representative in Las Vegas. A true love story began as Dave met his eternal sweetheart. Marsha Ericson and Dave were married in the Logan LDS Temple on August 18, 1976. From this union there were four wonderful children: Nicholas David (Melinda) Abel of Logan, UT; Barrett Louis Abel of San Diego, CA; Jessica Mary (Neal) Davis of Layton, UT; and Kyle Cameron Abel of Kaysville, UT. Dave and Marsha have two grandchildren: Hayden Davis and Allison Abel. His family was always the most important part of his life. Dave worked as a Sales Representative for Cardinal Healthcare where he interfaced with hospitals and laboratories in his areas, providing laboratory supplies and equipment for over 30 years. Twenty one of those years were in Las Vegas, NV with the remaining years in Kaysville, UT. In his business conduct he was always honest, and his clientele were treated as family. He earned various National and Regional sales recognitions including the Masters Club and Sales Rep of the Year. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was an important part of Dave's life. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Edinburgh, Scotland and returned to finish his mission in Arizona due to illness. He served in three Bishoprics over 12 years time. He held many other positions, and was enthusiastic about genealogy and completing the temple work for his ancestors. He received his Wood Badge in scouting as he worked with the scouts. Dave loved all types of sports, especially football and basketball. He followed the Aggies and cheered them on. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his optimistic outlook, and his compassionate attitude towards others. He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and three sisters: Bette (Doug) Follette of Bountiful, UT; Mary (Dave) Sanders of Layton, UT; and Joy (Jerry) Hill of Spanish Fork, UT; and two brothers: Joe (Shannon) Abel of Bountiful, UT; and Michael (Cindy) Abel of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Randy L. Abel and Ricky Dean Abel. Funeral Services will be held Thurs., March 13, 2008 at the Kaysville Haight Creek Stake Center, 1520 So. Foxpoint, Kaysville at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. A viewing will also be held Wed. evening at Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, (across from Cherry Hill Water Park) from 6-8 p.m. Interment Logan City Cemetery. Our fishing trip

Neal and I have picked up a new hobby of ice fishing. Neal has gone a couple of times with friends. This last time we went with our good friends Jamie and Ryan to Causey reservoir. We caught some fish but were to small to keep. The girls got to be in the tent with a heater while the boys braved the weather. When we got there the weather was 0 degrees. It was cold but we had a blast. We ended the day with rides on the snowmobile across the frozen lake. We also spotted some "Meese" (that is plural for Moose, ha ha). We saw many moose and deer on the drive and while we were fishing.
